Option 1 - https://twitter.com/about/resources/buttons
Option 2 - https://twitter.com/settings/widgets

Facebook Integration

For those that have a Facebook page or group and wish to promote your website and have it promoted by others with a level of consistency that large organizations enjoy, keep reading - it is easy!

To start off, you will want to have an image that Facebook will always use as the default image.  Branding is important even for a church or school.  Having the same image displayed whenever someone likes a page of your website means people will begin to associate the image (logo) with your local organization.  When your page is liked (or shared from the "Share" tab in edit mode on your website), Facebook chooses an image from the page to use as a thumbnail. The default thumbnail image or first option that Facebook uses can be changed with a bit of code in each template variation.  I added a thumbnail image (bellow) to our church website that does not show on the website but does show when the site is Facebooked.

My hidden image:

Here is the code I added to force Facebook to use my thumbnail as the default image.  Add the following code to the Head of each template variation:

Facebook Default Image

<meta property="og:image" content="http://MyChurch.org/site/1/template/Default_Facebook_Image2.jpg" /><link rel="image_src" href="http://MyChurcht.org/site/1/template/Default_Facebook_Image2.jpg" / >

For my church I uploaded the image to the "Template" folder so my URL's for both the "content" and "href" are set to: http://lincolnnorthside22.adventistchurchconnect.org/site/1/template/Default_Facebook_Image2.jpg
Please be aware that Facebook caches the image and it may not actually change for several days or even a week. With the "Share" option, when you choose to share with Facebook and publish your page, you get a dialog box with the page default description and a thumbnail.  The description that Facebook uses will be pulled from one of two places.  If you have added a description to the properties "description" box (Edit --> "Properties" tab), Facebook will pull the description from there.  Otherwise the description is pulled from the default site description ("System" --> "Site Configuration & Navigation" --> "Advanced" tab).
