back The theme features a hero image with a special torn page effect around the edges. The images are easy to update in the Theme Customizer, and we have provided three palettes for easy configuration.


1. Getting Started

From the Admin bar at the top of your website, select System and then click Themes. Locate and click on Organic.

If the theme is listed under the Available section you will only have the option to Preview & Customize it.

If the theme is listed under the Installed section you will also have the option to Set as Live Theme and Uninstall.
 
Select this button to see how the theme will look on your website and to customize to it. Note: This does not make the theme live.
Set this theme to be live for all visitors to see and experience immediately.
Select this button to discard all customizations and set the theme back to Available for the future.

2. Customize
 
  Palettes
This theme contains palettes, select one of the palettes to get started. The name selected is displayed to the right of the word palette.

Customize Link
Click the Customize link to begin modifing your palette choice. The Customize link will will be come a Change link allowing you to switch to a diferent palette.
   
 
  Images

The Organic theme has three image areas (Logo Image, Hero Image, and Article Page Banner Image) to customize the images on the home page. To change any of the images you can either drag and drop another image onto the existing image or use the Upload button. The Upload button lets you browse for an image from your computer. 

Please note: The Article Page Banner Image will display in the Preview Pane if a page with the article template is selected from the navigation.


Crop Link
The loaded images can be cropped, for more information click here
   
 
  Color Selector
The Accent Color appears on the Seventh-day Adventist Church logo, website (church or school name) name, links, and footer bar background.‚Äč
  • To change either of these colors, click on the square color box. Select from the rainbow bar a general color and then in the larger box select any shade of that color.  
  • Alternately, if you know the hexadecimal color code you can enter it in the box in the bottom right corner.  
  • Once you have a new color selected, click outside the color select area to set it.
   
 
  Below the Hero Image are three images with titles and each one can be customized to link.

Title Boxes (Left Feature, Middle Feature, Middle Feature)
The title boxes let you customize the titles.
  • Type any title you wish to change in the appropriate box.  
  • Click outside of the text box and the preview pane will refresh.
Link Boxes (Left Feature, Middle Feature, Middle Feature)
Link boxes allow you to change where a link is set to go to. You can change the sub links (left, middle, and right) to any page, module, or document on your site.          
  • Link to Page = article/x (x is the article number)
  • Link to Module = name.php (“name” should be replaced with the title of the module such as prayer.php, gallery.php, calendar.php, or podcastlist.php)
  • Link to a document = site/1/docs/file_name.pdf (in this example the "file_name.pdf" file was uploaded to the Docs folder)
Images (Left Feature, Middle Feature, Middle Feature)
To change any of the images you can either drag and drop another image onto the existing image or use the Upload button. The Upload button lets you browse for an image from your computer.

  Carousel
The Carousel link will open to the List Carousel page which allows you to replace or change existing images for the set you choose to edit. Click here to learn more about the carousel.

Please Note: The carousel will not display in preview. After the theme is published live navigate to the home page and click Edit on the Admin Bar. In Edit Article, in the Template Data tab; select the Home2 template and publish the home page. 


3. Update Preview - Cancel, Save, Publish

Click Update preview to see the changes and to gain access to the Cancel, Save, and Publish buttons.
 
Clicking this button will update the preview pane and will also reveal another set of buttons.
 
  If the theme is Not Live, the following buttons will appear.


If you made changes:

Cancel
Cancel will abandon all changes and return to the list of installed and available themes.

Save
Click Save to keep the changes to the theme and return to continue modifying the theme at a later time.

Publish
Click Publish if you made changes to the theme and want to publish it for the world to see your design.

If the theme is Published (theme is live and the world can see the design), the following buttons will appear.


Cancel
Clicking on Cancel will abandon all changes and return to the list of installed and available themes.

Publish
Click Publish to apply the changes to the live theme.
 
If you added URL links in Internet Services, social media icons with links to these services will automatically appear on every page of your website. Learn More »
4. Advanced Options

The Organic theme features additional options for footer links within the footer that can be modified and displayed at the bottom of every page of your website.
 

From the Admin bar at the top of your website, select System and then click Themes.

If Organic is listed in the Available Themes section then you will need to complete these steps: Select the Organic theme listed in the Installed Themes section. 

Under the Preview & Customize button, click on the Advanced HTML Editor link.

Advanced HTML Editor
In the Edit Theme: Meadow page locate the Layouts section, and click default.html link.

In line 83, find the script {% include "partial/footer-simple-nav-partial.html" %}


Remove the word simple and replace with the word complex.


Click Save button.

Next, in the Partials section click footer-complex-nav-partial.html.

This will display the HTML code with the four different sections, change the Page title between the h4 tags. Example: <h4>Pathfinders</h4>
 

Links
Insert the URL (web addresses or article number). The pound sign or hash tag (#) is replaced by the web address or article number (article/15).  
     • Link to Page = article/x (x is the article number)
     • Link to Module = name.php (“name” should be replaced with the title of the module such as prayer.php, gallery.php, calendar.php, or podcastlist.php)
     • Link to a document = site/1/docs/file_name.pdf (in this example the "file_name.pdf" file was uploaded to the Docs folder)

Also, replace the four words "Article" with descriptive wording.


Preview
Click the Save button in the bottom right corner.
Click on the Preview button and verify the links are. If the preview fails to load properly, review the changes.  

DO NOT close the Edit Theme page until preview correctly displayes your website!
